Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at Chateau St Gerlach, I savored a culinary journey unlike any other. The 4-course dinner at the St Gerlach Pavilion was a symphony of flavors artfully paired with exquisite wines, including the St Martinus Winery's exclusive blends. As I marveled at the picturesque vista, the second and main courses were elegantly presented at my table, while a bountiful buffet beckoned with a plethora of starters and desserts - a true feast for the senses.Immersing myself in the Wine Flight experience, the knowledgeable staff enlightened me on the small-scale production of these exclusive wines, crafted in collaboration with the esteemed St Martinus Winery. Each sip was a revelation, a testament to the craftsmanship and dedication behind each bottle. The team's passion was palpable as they introduced me to the house wines, a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation.Exploring the abundant estate gardens, where fresh ingredients are plucked for the hotel's restaurants, I dined at Les Salons and Burgemeester Quicx, Coffee & More. The gastronomic delights were a tribute to the local terroir, with dishes bursting with flavors nurtured in the fertile orchards, gardens, and vineyard onsite. In conclusion, my dining experience at Chateau St Gerlach was a journey of epicurean delights, a fusion of culinary innovation and artistic presentation that lingers on the palate long after the last bite. A celebration of Dutch gastronomy in a setting where every meal is a symphony of flavors orchestrated to perfection.
